Airbox. The Kuhnke Asi Pneumatic Slave Module

Kuhnke Airbox Overview

First introduced in 1996 as Airbox 1, the Kuhnke Airbox range now has over 50% market share of the AS-Interface pneumatics applications market. Airboxes are the only AS-Interface pneumatic devices available specifically designed for AS-Interface.

The basic Airbox 1 has 2 pneumatic outputs (each mimicking a 3/2 valve) and 2 digital inputs. It is yellow cable only and fits a standard Siemens K45 base. It is monostable

Airbox 32 has 4 digital inputs, and a black cable option. Similar to the Airbox 1 in design, it is also monostable.

 

Airbox K has 2 pairs of pneumatic outputs (each mimicking 4/2 or 5/2 valves) and 4 digital inputs. There are yellow cable and black cable options. It fits the larger Siemens K60 base. There are monostable and bistable options. Airbox K also has a "push in to operate" auxiliary air connection enabling it to operate at low pressures, or in soft start scenarios.

Airbox K is fitted using only one screw and enables you to maximise the number of I/O on your AS-i networks.

All Kuhnke Airboxes up to 2007 are not A/B addressable. A/B addressable versions, suitable for use with AS-i v2.1 & v3.0 masters will be introduced during 2007/8 and will be known as EASi AirBox. More information will be available on the website as each model is released. Please note both standard AirBox & EASi AirBox will be available as part of a larger range of Kuhnke AS-Interface products.
